The Seven Sacraments

The sacraments are outward signs instituted by Christ to give grace. Through these sacred mysteries, we encounter the living presence of Jesus and receive the spiritual nourishment we need for our life of faith.

The Foundation of Faith

Visible Signs ofInvisible Grace

The sacraments mark the most sacred moments of our lives. In Baptism we are welcomed into God's family. In the Eucharist we are nourished. In Confession we are forgiven. In Marriage and Holy Orders we are called to serve. Each one is a gift of grace from Christ himself.

These are not simply ceremonies or traditions. They are real encounters with God, moments when the Holy Spirit is at work in our hearts, drawing us closer to Christ and to one another. Through the sacraments, the Church has sustained the faithful for over two thousand years.

At St Saviour's, we are ready to walk with you. Whether you are preparing for your first sacrament, bringing a child for Baptism, or returning to the faith after many years, you are welcome here.

The Seven Sacraments

Baptism

Baptism

The gateway to life in the Spirit
Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as children of God. We become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church, and made sharers in her mission.
Confirmation

Confirmation

The seal of the Holy Spirit
Confirmation completes baptismal grace through the gifts of the Holy Spirit. It strengthens us to live as mature Christians and witness to Christ in word and deed.
The Eucharist

The Eucharist

The source and summit
The Eucharist is the Real Presence of Christ - Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity. It nourishes our spiritual life and unites us with Christ and one another.
Confession

Confession

God's mercy and forgiveness
Also called Reconciliation or Penance, this sacrament offers God's forgiveness for sins committed after Baptism, healing our relationship with God and the Church.
Marriage

Marriage

A covenant of love and life
Through the sacrament of Marriage, a man and woman enter into a permanent covenant of love, mirroring Christ's love for the Church and becoming cooperators in God's creative work.
Holy Orders

Holy Orders

Ordained to serve God's people
The sacrament of Holy Orders consecrates men to serve the Church as bishops, priests, and deacons. Through ordination they receive the grace to shepherd God's people.
Anointing of the Sick

Anointing of the Sick

God's healing grace
This sacrament provides spiritual strength, peace, and courage to those who are seriously ill or elderly. Through anointing with holy oil, God's healing grace is given.
